DES MOINES, Iowa - Dec. 17, 2008 - With meteorologists predicting a winter storm to hit Iowa tomorrow, MidAmerican Energy has placed its electric operations personnel on alert. Numerous other employees also are available for storm response who are trained to make conditions safe in the field and support activities as needed.
"MidAmerican Energy works year-round to prepare for and minimize storm-related outages," said Barry Campbell, vice president of delivery services. "When storm-related outages occur, MidAmerican employees focus on ensuring public safety, determining the extent of the damage, providing customers with all available information and restoring service as safely as possible."
As part of its storm preparation and response efforts, MidAmerican also works closely with local and state public safety officials. To assist customers' storm preparations, MidAmerican offers the following storm tips.

Special Election to Fill the Vacancy of the 2nd Ward Alderman |

It is anticipated that the City Council will approve at its December 23, 2008 meeting a Resolution calling for a special election on March 3, 2009 to fill the vacancy of 2nd Ward Alderman. The calendar listing of dates will not be provided until the Council has passed the resolution, however, you may print the Affidavit of Candidacy and Nomination Petition forms to begin securing information needed to file for this vacancy. 36 signatures will be needed on the nomination petition.
